Program Details

The ATC in Museum Studies is meant for any student interested in learning more about the curatorial, theoretical, and methodological underpinnings of museums and art galleries. The Certificate consists of six courses and functions as an entry-level credential when entering the workforce. It may be completed along with any Associate degree program or after graduation.

The Introduction to Museum Studies (ARH2857) and Museum & Gallery Exhibition Design (ARH2832) courses teach students about museums, the ethics of cultural institutions, exhibition design, planning, and installation, and cultural heritage. To supplement the theory and ideas they learn in class, students participate in a Museum & Gallery Co-op Work Experience course (ARH2990), in which they pursue an internship within a museum or art gallery in Miami, learn about different museum and art gallery careers, and gain tools for professional etiquette and resume writing.
